The total number of people with a formal contract reached 449.5 thousand formal jobs in the capital of Amazonas

The state of Amazonas registered a balance of 2,973 formal jobs in September 2023. There were 19,809 admissions and 16,836 dismissals in the period. The Novo Caged data was released this Monday, October 30, by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE). In the first nine months of 2023, the Amazon balance is 20,730 formal vacancies in the state. Considering the last 12 months, the balance is slightly lower: 18,771 vacancies.

In September, Manaus was responsible for the largest balance of formal job creation in Amazonas. There were 2,695 vacancies, resulting in 18,295 admissions and 15,600 dismissals. The total number of people with a formal contract reached 449.5 thousand formal jobs in the capital of Amazonas.

The other four municipalities that make up the five largest balances of jobs created in the state, in September, are Silves (57), Presidente Figueiredo (40), Humanitá (33) and Parintins (31).

Taking into account the five sectors analyzed by Novo Caged, Amazonas had a positive balance in four. There were 1,589 vacancies in the Services sector, 737 in Construction, 475 in Industry, 220 in Commerce and a negative balance of 48 in Agriculture.

First nine months

In the first nine months of 2023, a total of 1.59 million Brazilians entered the formal job market. From January to September, there were 17.8 million admissions and 16.2 million dismissals, according to Novo Caged.

In September, as in every month of the year, there was an increase in the number of people with a formal employment contract in the country and the balance was 211,764 jobs — the result of 1,917,057 admissions and 1,705,293 dismissals. In the last 12 months (October/2022 to September/2023), the accumulated number is 1.4 million jobs, resulting from 22.8 million hirings and 21.4 million dismissals.

In September, the balance was positive in the five regions and in the 27 units of the Federation. In the Southeast, the positive variation was 82,350 formal vacancies, followed by the Northeast, with 75,108, the South (22,330), the North (16,850) and the Central-West (14,793).

Largest stock

The stock, that is, the total number of people with a formal contract currently working, reached the level of 44 million in September 2023, the highest ever recorded in the country’s history, with a variation of 0.48% in relation to August.

The positive variation in formal employment was recorded in the five major groups of economic activities: Services (+98,206 jobs); Commerce (+43,465 positions); Industry (+31,086 jobs), mainly in the Manufacturing Industry (+28,077 jobs); Construction (+28,359 jobs); and Agriculture (+5,126 positions).

In the month, the balance was positive for women (+83,096) and men (+128,668). With regard to the Disabled Population (PWD), a positive balance of (+1,590) jobs was identified. Employment was positive for mixed race (+145,519), white people (+49,451), black people (+20,004), yellow people (+2,642) and indigenous people (+232).

Salary

The real average salary for admission in September was R$2,032.07, showing stability with a negative variation of R$8.07 compared to the corrected value in August (R$2,040.14). Compared to the same month of the previous year, discounting changes resulting from the seasonality of the month, the real gain was R$13.92.
