Amazon breaks sales record in the country with Prime Day – 07/14/2023 – Panel SA

Amazon announces this Friday (14) that Brazil set a record for sales on Prime Day, the global fair for the electronic platform. The numbers were not revealed.

However, the company claims that 375 million items were sold worldwide, with discounts totaling $2.5 billion. On average, it was a rebate of US$ 6.7 (R$ 32 at this Friday’s quotation).

In high-value products, such as the PlayStation 5, for example, the discount was greater, around R$800.

The company says that in the two days of the event, sales were 50% higher than last year’s edition. The volume of hits on the site doubled, reaching a peak of 3 million views per minute.

This made the North American retailer register, on the 11th, its best sales day since it arrived in the country in 2012.

Brazilians took advantage of the discounts and bought everything from electronics, such as Echo Pop and Echo Dot (virtual assistants from Amazon), to washing powder, beer and whey protein.

Items like the Playstation 5 with the game God of War and cell phones from Apple and Samsung were among the most sold electronics.
