The event, which started last Wednesday (07/05), has more than 5,000 national and international exhibitors
The Government of the State of Amazonas, through the Executive Secretariat for Work and Entrepreneurship (Setemp), the body that manages the handicraft segment in the state, is participating in the 23rd edition of the National Handicraft Business Fair (Fenearte), at the Convention Center from Pernambuco, in Olinda. The event started last Wednesday (05) and ends on July 16. According to the coordination of the event, there are more than 5 thousand exhibitors from all over the world.
This year, eight artisans are representing Amazonas at the largest craft fair in Latin America. There, they have the opportunity to exhibit and sell regional pieces, such as basketwork, necklaces, earrings and other items. The amount raised, so far, has exceeded the mark of R$ 225 thousand reais in just four days of the event.
The expectation is that more than 300 thousand people visit the space during the 15 days of the fair. According to artisan Rita Prossi, participating in another edition of Fenearte means being able to show the state’s work throughout Brazil and the world:
“I am very happy to be participating in a great fair like this, since this is the largest handicraft fair in Brazil, we are having the chance to show our art to everyone who passes by our stand”,
he said.
The head of Setemp, Paulo Gilson, says that Fenearte is a great opportunity to contribute to increasing the artisans’ income, in addition to giving visibility to the Amazonian culture.
“With the support of the Government of Amazonas, Amazonian handicrafts are once again present at Fenearte and I believe that, as in previous years, this one will also be a success, as we know how much professionals are dedicated and prepared for this moment”,
stated.
Fenearte 2023
