Agricultural company plans to invest BRL 100 million in expansion in the State

The perspective of another soy harvest punished by drought in Rio Grande do Sul does not change 3tentos investment plans in the State in 2023. The perspective is to spend up to R$ 100 million in contributions for the expansion of the agricultural company in the Interior and industry in the transformation of soy into bran and oil for the production of biodiesel.
According to the chief operating officer of 3tentos, João Marcelo Dumoncel, the scenario of difficulties, and the way the company faced it last year, showed that the planning of the last years was correct. BRL 171 million was invested in 2022 in the company’s operations, which since 2021 has been operating on the B3 market, on the Brazilian Stock Exchange.
“We will follow our strategy, which proved to be right in 2022. We are still only defining details to confirm the municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul where 3tentos will have new facilities”, explains Dumoncel.
Four new stores will be opened – with an investment of R$ 90 million -, which serve not only as places for marketing inputs and grains, but also storage points from the farmer. The municipalities have not yet been defined. They will represent an increase of 50 thousand tons in the storage capacity of 3tentos in Rio Grande do Sul.
Currently, the company has the capacity to store 1 million tons. Mark reached last year, with the opening of five stores in Lagoa Vermelha, Sananduva, Nonoai, Rosário do Sul and Três de Maio.
It was from these locations that 3tento found solutions in 2022. With the soy crop falling by half compared to the previous year, the large wheat production compensated and found space for storage and sale of grains, mainly to other states in Brazil .
3tentos ended 2022 with a net profit of R$571.2 million, an increase of 32.7% compared to 2021.
“For this year, we will possibly have a soybean result again below 2021, but not as bad as in 2022. And once again, the tendency is to have a large production of wheat in the State. These are alternatives and opportunities that we have in this branch of the commercialization of the grain, but our industrial plans were not affected by the drought last year, and probably will not be again”, estimates João Marcelo Dumoncel.
This will be the first year that the Cruz Alta processing plant will operate a full year at double its capacity. A project completed last year and which, in 2023, will still require R$ 10 million in investments for the modernization of one of the boilers. Added to the Ijuí industrial unit, 3tentos processes 1.1 million tons of soy per year.
The largest portion (75%) is transformed into bran, which is destined for both the domestic and export markets. The remaining 25% is transformed into oil, which is supplied to biodiesel production, with its main markets being between Paraná and São Paulo.
“We have an opportunity for growth in the order of 20% in this demand, with the increase from 10% to 12% in the percentage of biodiesel in commercial diesel”, signals the director.
And if in Rio Grande do Sul 3tentos maintains the pace of expansion, in Mato Grosso, where the company allocated R$ 630 million last year, with the construction of a factory in the municipality of Vera, the intention is to consolidate its presence in the agricultural market.
In the coming days, this industrial plant is expected to start operations. Another R$ 120 million will be invested this year for the construction of three new stores in that state. Last year, five stores were structured in Mato Grosso.
The plan established in 2020 was to increase from 40 to 62 3tentos units in Brazil in 2024.
