Objective is to show the importance of the Unified Health System
An act in defense of the Unified Health System (SUS), life and democracy brought together hundreds of people, this Tuesday morning (4), in front of the National Museum of the Republic, in Brasília.
With banners, posters and flags, the idea was to make society aware of the importance of the SUS.
The act was attended by participants of the 17th National Health Conference, an event that gathers around six thousand people in Brasilia and represents the resumption of dialogue and popular participation in the construction of policies for the SUS.
The representative of the Women of Águas de Balneário Pinhal, in Rio Grande do Sul, Carmén Léa, highlighted the importance of health services. “The defense of SUS and the increasing qualification of the service, which is very precarious. We still have a lot to do, social control, because most here are part of municipal and state health councils”.
Conference participants will decide on two thousand proposals and guidelines presented at municipal, state and free conferences, in which more than two million people were involved.
The result will serve as a basis for the preparation of the National Health Plan and the Multi-Year Plan for 2024-2027.
Aderildes Kaixana, member of the Alto Rio Solimões District Council for Indigenous Health, in Amazonas, brought the proposals of the region’s indigenous people to Brasilia.
“Indigenous health pays attention to health, prevention, care for the healthy Indian. But then when the Indian gets sick, he goes to the medium complexity that is the municipality, that is our problem, and the biggest problem is the high complexity that is the state, where we do not have a consultation with a specialized doctor for our indigenous people ”.
The 17th National Health Conference takes place until next Wednesday (5) in Brasília.
