Abusive robot calls are reduced by around 40%, says Anatel

The measure, in force since June, will be extended until April 30, 2023; extend the determination to block a company’s telephone lines when: I) the company makes at least 100,000 calls per day, adding all telephone lines; II) and if 85% of the 100,000 calls made by the company last from zero to three seconds; publish the name of the companies that most disturb the consumer by practicing abusive telemarketing on a monthly basis. In addition, it determined the implementation of two prefixes so that consumers can identify telemarketing calls and block calls, if they so wish. Companies must use the code 0303 to identify telemarketing calls, this rule has been in effect since June. It was also decided that the code 0304 would be used to identify telephone calls made by billing companies, but this measure should still come into force in the middle of this year.
