27th edition of Fenin projects BRL 500 million in sales

With an expectation of 15,000 visitors, the 27th edition of Fenin Fashion Gramado Winter, the largest fair in the textile sector in Latin America, opened its doors this Tuesday (24th), at the Serra Park complex, in the Serra Gaúcha, with a projection of growth of 30% in relation to the last edition and to reach R$ 500 million in sales. Occupying the two pavilions of the event center, Fenin has, this year, 250 exhibitors and more than a thousand Brazilian and international brands presenting trends and products to shopkeepers. The program continues until Friday (27).

Shopkeepers who were already lining up to access the complex early this Tuesday afternoon found several traditional and new designer brands at Fenin. Among the stands of the main brands are Nicoboco, Ana Gonçalves, Queens, Mooncity, Gangster and Sawary Jeans. The shopkeeper from Santa Catarina, Bela Tibúrcio, stated that she is really enjoying the trends. “I’ve already bought pieces, it’s very colorful, but I’d like to see more national production too”, she countered.

According to Fenin’s Marketing director, Denis Viana, it is this variety and the combination of tradition and novelty that make the difference for the fair. “One of the successes lies in the plurality of brands presented. In addition to novelties in women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, sportswear, underwear and accessories, there are already well-known brands. Every shopkeeper who comes can be sure to find the pieces for their niche”, he considered.

According to Julio Viana, EXPOVEST director, who runs the Fair, Fenin is an opportunity to highlight the potential of the clothing industry, especially in Rio Grande do Sul. “Brazil has the capacity to produce high-quality clothes, as you’ve seen here. Our state was even a great producer. It doesn’t make sense that we produce cotton, export it and then have to import ready-made clothes again”, pondered Viana.

Despite being held in the state, most of the industries represented are from São Paulo. “We have the Farroupilha stand and Moda RS, from Sebrae. This is a way of encouraging the sector here, especially for winter fashion”, he reflected. For him, it has been a while since Rio Grande do Sul appeared on the fashion scene, but, as he explains, this is an opportunity, once that, with the pandemic, many businesses also opened. “We have several challenges in the sector, but we also have a lot of people innovating and we still have many fashion industries”, he said.

The national brand Ana Gonçalves, from São Paulo, brought to Fenin several releases and trends for the winter of 2023. Even a blouse worn by actress Jade Picon, in the soap opera Travessia. “Animal print and colorful clothes will be on the rise”, explained model Jéssica Araújo. When it comes to jeans, you can expect “a lot of rhinestones and very tight pants”, said model Alana Rubia, from the Sawary Jeans brand, traditional from Brás, in São Paulo.

The fair is also an important player in business tourism for Gramado, as defined by the vice-mayor of the city, Luia Barbacovi, in a press conference at the opening of the event. “This period of the year we have a drop in hotels and restaurants. Fenin operates precisely the period between the end of Natal Luz and Carnival. And what other place to hold a winter fashion fair than Gramado?”, he asked.
