123milhas partner apologizes for inconvenience and blames the air market

The partner of the company 123milhas, Ramiro Júlio Soares Madureira, testifies this Wednesday (6th) to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the financial pyramids in the Chamber of Deputies. He was summoned to explain the suspension of promotional airfare packages on August 18th.
In his testimony in the morning, Madureira assumed that the company was wrong to offer tickets from the “promo line”. He said the company believed the cost of package tours would decrease over time, but just the opposite has happened.
“Contrary to what we expected, the market has been permanently behaving as if it were in high season, and this has shaken not only the fundamentals of the promo line, but of all 123 Milhas”, he said.
According to Ramiro Madureira, the business model depended on a flow of new purchases on the site, which would also have been lower than expected. In the promotional line, customers accepted flexibility of dates.
Faced with the inconvenience and financial losses, the partner at 123milhas apologized to customers, employees and suppliers, and said that the objective of the business now is to settle debts with all creditors through judicial recovery, approved by Justice last week.
“We can’t help but apologize again to all those who have been harmed by a line of business that has proven to be misguided. What we are doing now and with all our dedication and commitment at our disposal is to seek solutions”, he said.
The businessman also pointed out that 123milhas will continue to operate so that consumers are reimbursed within the recovery plan, which will now be discussed among the creditors. And he added that those who bought tickets for 2024 will also be included in the plan.
