Good news for everyone interested in human evolution in Greater SP — one of the leading experts on the subject in the world will hold two conferences with free entry in the capital of São Paulo this week. This is British paleoanthropologist Bernard Wood, from George Washington University (USA), who has worked with some of the most important fossils in the trajectory of hominins (extinct members of the closest group of primates that includes our species).
Wood visits the country for events organized by USP’s Institute of Advanced Studies, in partnership with the institution’s Museum of Archeology and Ethnology. Check out the agenda below:
On 10/09 (Monday), the researcher will be at USP, at 4pm. The lecture is part of the USP Lectures series and will address the theme “Origins of Gender Homo“.
The event is free, with no registration required, and can be followed remotely via YouTube, without simultaneous translation. The speech will take place in the University Council Room, Rua da Reitoria, 374, ground floor, in Cidade Universitária.
The second event is on 10/10 (Tuesday), at 10am. It will be a Fapesp Conference with the theme “Human Evolution: achievements and challenges”. The lecture will be at the Fapesp Auditorium, Rua Pio XI, 1500, in Alto da Lapa, and will feature simultaneous translation from English to Portuguese. In this case, you must register on the Fapesp website, in this link.
