Education drives the increase February’s results are, in general, higher due to school readjustments that happen all at once. In Education (5.07%), the biggest contribution comes from regular courses (6.13%). All sub-items of private schools had significant increases, such as secondary education (8.58%), primary education (8.23%), pre-school (8.14%) and daycare (5.91%) . Furthermore, technical courses (6.01%), higher education (3.74%) and postgraduate studies (2.81%) also rose. The Food and beverages group had a slight slowdown, but still has a relevant contribution to the IPCA-15 result. The increase in the month was 0.97% against 1.53% last month. The weight in the index, however, was still 0.20 pp upwards. Food at home is still under pressure from scarcer supply and the effects of El Niño. The increase was 1.16% in February, with highlights being carrots (36.21%), potatoes (22.58%), carioca beans (7.21%), rice (5. 85%) and fruits (2.24%). Food away from home accelerated, 0.48% in the month against 0.24% in January. Meals (0.35%) and snacks (0.79%) rose more than in the previous month (0.32% and 0.16%).
