After ICMS adjustment, gasoline price increases 3.14% in one week

A liter of gasoline closed on February 6th at R$5.91, an increase of 3.14%

One week after the new ICMS rates came into force, the average price of the main fuels became more expensive across the country. This is what the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL) points out, a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing a precise average.

A liter of gasoline closed on February 6th at R$5.91, an increase of 3.14%, when compared to January 31st. Regular diesel was sold at R$6.01, an increase of 1.52%, and the S-10 type closed at R$6.16, after becoming 1.99% more expensive.

“These increases represent an average outlay of more than R$0.18 cents for drivers who fill up with gasoline. Furthermore, I emphasize that the consumption of ethanol contributes to low-carbon mobility, reducing gas emissions responsible for climate change”, highlights Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil.

On the other hand, CNG (natural gas for vehicles) dropped in price after the adjustment and ended the sixth day of the month at an average of R$4.65, a reduction of 0.21%.

The IPTL is a fuel price index based on supplies made at the 21 thousand Edenred Ticket Log accredited stations, with a robust data science structure that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at the stations, providing a precise average, which has great reliability, due to the number of vehicles managed by the brand: more than 1 million, with an average of eight transactions per second.
