The units that offer vaccination are distributed in all areas of the capital of Amazonas
Manaus (AM) – Seventy-four health units in Manaus City Hall will offer doses against Covid-19 this week, from Monday to Thursday, December 4th to 7th, for users interested in starting or updating the vaccination schedule against the disease. The Municipal Health Department (Semsa), responsible for the immunization campaign, informs that the service will not be offered on Friday (8), due to the holiday of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, patron saint of Manaus.
According to the municipal secretary of Health, Shádia Fraxe, the units that offer vaccination are distributed in all areas of the capital, with nine of them operating during extended hours, from 8 am to 8 pm, and the others, at regular hours, from 8 am to 5pm. The strategy, says the secretary, aims to expand the population’s access to immunization agents.
“The more people with an up-to-date vaccination schedule, the lower the risk of infection by Covid-19 and the development of serious forms of the disease, which can lead to death,”
reinforces the secretary.
Vaccines against Covid-19, adds Shádia, are recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over. “The immunizers offered in the Unified Health System (SUS) are tested and approved by health regulatory bodies, being safe and effective against the coronavirus, which causes the disease”, she points out.
To receive the vaccine, users must go to the nearest health unit, in possession of an official identification document with photo, CPF or SUS Card. Shádia also points out that children under 12 must be accompanied by their parents to receive the Pfizer Baby or Pfizer Pediatric vaccines, depending on the child’s age.
“We have specific units to serve children, 14 of which are aimed at children under 5 years old, and 35 for those between 5 and 11 years old”,
inform the manager.
The complete list of Semsa health establishments that offer vaccination is available at bit.ly/localvacinacovid19, providing addresses, opening hours and audiences served at each location.
To have the complete vaccination schedule, users must receive the 1st and 2nd doses of the primary schedule, plus a booster dose, observing a four-month interval between applications. On the Imuniza Manaus platform (imuniza.manaus.am.gov.br), it is possible to check the vaccination status, with deadlines and doses to be received, simply by entering your CPF number.
