OX (formerly Twitter) informed this Tuesday (1st) minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), that it will pay in full fines of R$ 28.6 million applied to the platform and its judicial representative in Brazil, without needing to use Starlink resources.
With the platform’s request, the minister ordered the Central Bank and the CVM (Securities Commission) to unblock the company’s bank accounts.
Businessman Elon Musk, owner of X, is also a shareholder in the satellite internet company.
OX stated that it will pay a fine set at R$18.3 million for failing to comply with decisions to remove the profile.
The social network will also pay another R$10 million for the maneuver that made it work again in the country two weeks ago.
In addition, the company will pay a fine of R$300,000 imposed on the platform’s legal representative, Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova Conceição.
Last Friday (27), Moraes maintained the blockade of X in Brazil and made his return conditional on paying fines for non-compliance with court decisions.
