Furthermore, commentators analyze the demonstration this Sunday (29), at Praça da Liberdade, in Belo Horizonte, whose objective was to pressure the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), to guide the impeachment request of minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Social network X completes one month offline in Brazil
This Monday (30), the social network X completes one month off the air in Brazil by decision of minister Alexandre de Moraes. Last week, the company requested the return of the platform in the country, but Moraes alleged non-compliance with requirements, such as paying a fine of R$ 10 million. The penalty was applied after the service was reactivated in some cities, but only for some users.
The lawyer Rachel de Oliveirarepresentative of X in Brazil, was also fined R$ 300 thousand by decision of Moraes. So far, the minister has not signaled any decision to return to the social network in the country.
Demonstration in Belo Horizonte pressures Pacheco to impeach Moraes
This Sunday (29), protesters gathered at Praça da Liberdade, in Belo Horizonte, to pressure the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, to consider the impeachment of minister Alexandre de Moraes.
Dressed mostly in green and yellow, the protesters displayed banners with messages such as “Fora Moraes”, calls for respect for democracy, demands for Pacheco and references to Elon Musk, who has criticized the abuses of the Brazilian Judiciary.
The location was chosen because it was Pacheco’s electoral stronghold. The PSD, the Senate president’s party, was also the target of protests due to the stance of a large number of its senators, who avoid taking a stance on Moraes’ impeachment.
