World Meatless Day: 5 vegetarian restaurants in SP – 03/20/2023 – Restaurants

Every year on March 20th, World Meatless Day is celebrated. On the date, supporters and defenders of vegetarianism and veganism take actions to rethink meat consumption in the world.

The date emerged in 1985, in the United States, from an initiative by the American NGO Farm, which defends animal rights.

The objective is to make the population aware of the negative impacts that excessive consumption of meat can have on health and the environment. The problems include, for example, an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and the emission of polluting gases.

The idea is also to encourage people not to consume meals with animal protein on the date. In São Paulo, there is a varied list of vegetarian and vegan restaurants that invest in vegetables, fruits and grains in their recipes.

Below is a guide to find out where and what to eat on a meatless day in São Paulo.
