The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) opened a procedure to investigate former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for embezzlement in the case of weapons brought by him from a trip he made to the Middle East in 2019. the case of jewelry received from Saudi Arabia.

He is part of the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the MPF in the Federal District. Earlier this year, Vaez Dias participated in efforts after coup leaders were arrested for the attacks that took place in Brasília on January 8.

On Wednesday (15), the TCU (Tribunal de Contas da União) ordered the former president to deliver, within five days, the jewelry he received as a gift from Saudi Arabia and the weapons he brought from the Middle East. The measure was taken unanimously by the six ministers of the court of accounts who voted in the session.
