Voting in transit is not allowed in municipal elections – Diário do Amapá

Next Sunday (6), date of the 1st round of the 2024 Municipal Elections, voters have the right to elect new representatives for the positions of mayor, vice-mayor and councilor, who will serve for the next four years. As voting in transit is not allowed in municipal elections, only in general elections, those who are not at their electoral domicile (where they reside or have ties) and are unable to vote must justify their absence.

Voting in transit only occurs in years of general elections (for the Presidency of the Republic, Federal Senate, legislative assemblies, Legislative Chamber of the Federal District, Chamber of Deputies and state governments), in conventional voting locations or those created for this purpose in the capitals and in municipalities with more than 100 thousand voters.

How to justify the vote?

In the 2024 Elections, justification for absence from voting must be presented preferably through e-Título, the Electoral Court app (download the app from the Google Play and Apple Store virtual stores). On election day, it is also possible to print the Electoral Justification Request form (PDF format) and deliver it completed to the vote or justification reception desks set up by the regional electoral courts and electoral registry offices.

What is the deadline to justify?

Anyone who does not present a justification on election day may justify their absence up to 60 days after each round. In addition to the e-Título, it is possible to carry out the procedure through the Justifica System, on the TSE Portal.

Another option is to fill out the Electoral Justification Request form (post-election) and deliver it to any electoral office or send it by post to the judicial authority in the electoral zone responsible for the title. But be careful: this application is different from the one filled out on election day.
