Coach leaves command of Rio’s red-black team
Flamengo announced this Monday morning (30) the departure of the coach Tite. The commander had been at the club since October 2023 and commanded the club throughout the 2024 season.
With the Rio club, the coach from Rio Grande do Sul won the 2024 Carioca Championship.
In a statement, the club announced the departure of Tite from Flamengo, in addition to its technical committee. Former player and current under-20 coach, Filipe Luís will lead the red-black team from Rio on an interim basis.
“The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo informs that coach Tite and his technical committee no longer command the red and black squad. The management thanks the professionals and wishes them luck in continuing their careers. Filipe Luís takes over the team on an interim basis.”stated the Rio club.
At Flamengo, Tite spent 70 games, had 41 wins, 13 draws and 16 defeats. Furthermore, he won the 2024 Rio title. He leaves the Gávea team in 4th place in the Brazilian Championship and in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil. The expectation of his dismissal increased after the red-black team’s elimination in the Libertadores last Thursday (26) against Peñarol.
