Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) imported the gastronomic calendar of Rio de Janeiro and Brasília to the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, headquarters of the São Paulo administration.
Feijoada, traditionally served on Wednesdays in São Paulo, is now served on Fridays in the palace’s restaurants, causing strangeness among employees and other patrons.
In Rio, the governor’s birthplace, and in the federal capital, where several advisors came from, the dish is usually eaten the day before the weekend.
This Wednesday (7), another surprise appeared on the menu: the turnaround in São Paulo style, a recipe that also has a fixed day in the São Paulo routine, Monday.
During the 2022 election campaign, Tarcísio was charged by opponents for not being born in São Paulo. In his main misstep on the subject, he did not know how to say the name of the school where he would vote in São José dos Campos, in the interior of the state.
Sought by the Panel, the government of São Paulo did not explain the reason for the change in the menu schedule at Palácio dos Bandeirantes.
