Tabata shows relationship with João Campos and attracts provocations – 09/29/2024 – Power
The relationship between federal deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB) and the mayor of Recife, João Campos (PSB), was on the agenda of the candidate for Mayor of São Paulo and in the sights of her opponents.
While the relationship between the two appears in Tabata’s campaign in the midst of an attempt to increase her awareness rate in the city, opponents use the couple’s relationship to mock the deputy with sexist speeches and even insinuate, without any evidence, a lack of transparency in the meetings of the two. two.
In a series about Tabata’s life produced in the pre-campaign, the beginning of the relationship was remembered by the couple. In a relaxed tone, the two joked about who declared first. Also campaigning in Recife, but up for re-election and in a very comfortable position in the polls, Campos came to São Paulo for the recording.
The formula was successful on the networks, especially with cuts of videos published on Instagram — one of them reached 2.1 million, a level similar to the “true crime” style pieces in which the candidate accuses Pablo Marçal (PRTB) for an alleged relationship with the PCC (First Command of the Capital).
Curiosity about the couple is natural, considers Tabata’s marketer, Pedro Simões, who says that the two have a soap opera history.
This is because, long before entering politics and meeting her current boyfriend, the deputy took a plane for the first time, at the age of 13, to meet the then minister Eduardo Campos (Science and Technology), João’s father and creator of the Brazilian Olympics. Mathematics in Public Schools. Tabata ended the competition with a gold medal.
In addition to attracting public attention, however, the relationship has also been the target of jabs and criticism from other candidates for mayor, from indirect to explicit.
In a debate, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) defended himself against criticism from the deputy, stating that perhaps he did not know his administration well because he was “traveling a lot to other states”.
Marçal, in turn, said that, despite the candidate dating a “nice guy”, she would not be able to be a city manager, since she is not married or has children.
On another occasion, she stated that she would not be mayor of São Paulo, just first lady of Brazil.
Another candidate who used their relationship to make allegations against Tabata was Marina Helena (Novo). The candidate insinuated that there is a lack of transparency in the alleged use of private jets to visit her boyfriend.
Tabata denied the statement and promised to sue the Novo candidate if she did not back down.
“If you are curious about my relationship, there is a series on YouTube in which I tell my story and my relationship with João”, she said.
Marina Helena did not present evidence of the accusation and said that “asking does not offend”.
For Tabata’s marketer, the criticism and pokes about her relationship do not affect her voting intentions.
Still, Simões considers that Marçal strategically belittles the candidate. “It’s as if he was waving to a part of the sexist population that despises women,” he says.
In Recife, the relationship has not been explored by João Campos’ campaign in radio and television advertisements. On the networks, the pieces produced by Tabata’s team are also shared on his Instagram account.
According to members of the candidate’s campaign for re-election in Recife, the strategy is also to help Tabata leverage her digital popularity, as the mayor has 2.5 million followers on the social network, some of them from outside Recife — she has 1. 6 million.
In the opposition, Tabata’s name has already been mentioned to try to reach the mayor.
Opposition councilor candidates used speeches from the PSB candidate in São Paulo to reinforce criticisms of public management in Recife, such as the issue of the structure of daycare centers.
“If a corruption and money embezzlement scheme is proven, the mayor will have to explain himself. Even his girlfriend, Tabata, denounced the daycare scheme in São Paulo. And she asks for an investigation. Speak, Tabata. I’m with you ! I demand that this scandal be investigated here in Recife”, said candidate Gilson Machado (PL), in a video at the beginning of September.
He also criticized the candidate when Marçal’s social media accounts were suspended, as a result of action taken by her campaign.
Campos’ management responded to criticism of education and states that, after the allegations, Gilson lost 293 insertions and 38 minutes of his electoral guide on TV and radio, as a result of punishment by the Electoral Court.
The decision considered that there was “decontextualization” and “a clear adulteration of meaning, since the defendant goes beyond the content of the original news”.
In addition to Gilson, a candidate for councilor in Recife, Professor Thiago (PSD), also made an allegation about an alleged daycare mafia on the part of “Tabata Amaral’s boyfriend”. In the video, he asks followers to share the content until it reaches Marçal. The self-described former coach shared the video and commented “what do you say to this?”
In interviews, João has already been asked about his relationship with the candidate and stated that the two have a common goal.
They talk every day, the candidate said, and one weekend a month, one goes to the other’s city. “We managed to overcome [a distância] and live well the moment we are together”, said Campos to Conversa com Bial, on TV Globo.
The two, who have been together since 2019, have also said that they plan to have five children — later, Tabata admitted to considering reducing it to “about three”.
According to her, their priority is to build a career in politics and, later, build a family.
It would be the joining of two distinct trajectories in politics — she, with origins in the periphery, and he, from a political clan with a long history in the state.
“I have a very unusual life, my family still lives in occupations, I have financial conditions that are top-notch today, but it is very different from the environment in which João grew up”, he stated in an interview with Poder360. “Being able to show my reality is also a learning experience for him.”
