In 2023, Starbucks and McDonald’s consolidated their positions as the most valuable restaurant brands in the world. This is what the annual Brand Finance Restaurant 25 2023 ranking points out, which brings data on value, growth, strength and added value of the main world brands in the away-from-home food sector.

Each year, the leading brand valuation consultancy, Brand Finance, tests 5,000 companies and publishes more than 100 reports, ranking them across industries and countries. The top 25 are included in the annual Brand Finance Restaurant 25 2023 ranking.

According to the data, Starbucks extends its lead and remains the most valuable restaurant brand for the 7th consecutive year. The American multinational coffee chain grew 17% in the last year, with an estimated value of US$ 53.4 billion, 30% more than before the pandemic.

McDonald’s, on the other hand, lost 7% of its value in the period evaluated, worth US$ 36.9 billion. The press version of the report does not analyze the reasons for the shrinkage of fast food, despite still being one of the strongest in the world.
