Solar eclipse: See what it was like around the world and in Brazil – 10/02/2024 – Science
On the afternoon of this Wednesday (2), a solar eclipse occupied the skies over part of Brazil and South America. A small portion of Mexico and islands in the South Pacific Ocean were also able to see the phenomenon.
In part of Argentina and Chile, the so-called annular solar eclipse occurred, when the Moon is placed between the Sun and the Earth, resulting in a kind of “ring of fire” in the skies.
In São Paulo, for example, around 10% of the Sun was covered. In Porto Alegre, the value was almost 27%.
