The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), determined that the senators confirm by Friday (17) the signatures for the opening of the CPI that will investigate the acts of January 8, requested by Senator Soraya Thronicke (União Brasil-MS ) shortly after the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília.

The request was made at the end of the Senate session this Wednesday (15). “New subscriptions will also be accepted within the same period”, added Pacheco. Earlier this week, the President of the House told the Federal Supreme Court that he did not determine the opening of the CPI earlier due to the change in the legislature.

“The request was presented in the last legislature, and there are regulatory provisions, whose interpretation prevents its automatic continuation”, he said in the justification.

The statement was given on account of a writ of mandamus requested by the senator to the ministers of the Supreme Court to order the opening of the CPI in the House.
