Starting September 30, Rio de Janeiro will host one of the three Pre-Olympic Men’s Volleyball Tournaments, which distribute vacancies for the Paris 2024 Games. During the ceremony at the Guanabara Palace, the governor also launched Rio’s candidacy for the Beach Volleyball World Cup in 2025.

The Maracanãzinho Gymnasium, in the north zone of the Rio de Janeiro capital, will be the stage for the Pre-Olympic Games, which will bring together eight teams, including the Brazilian team, led by coach Renan Dal Zotto. The dispute will take place from September 30 to October 8, also in the two other headquarters of the selective: China and Japan. Last Wednesday (8), the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) had already defined Brazil as one of the venues for the men’s volleyball trials.

The draw for the keys will take place on Friday (17), at 9 am (Brasília time), with a live broadcast on YouTube from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). Teams from 24 countries will be drawn for the three tournaments. Only the two best placed in each competition qualify for the Paris Games. One of the spots is already reserved for France as the host country, both in the men’s and women’s competitions.
