Research shows Sebastião Melo with 44% of voting intentions; Maria do Rosário has 23%
Less than a week before the 2024 municipal elections, the Real Time Big Data institute released, this Monday (30), electoral survey of voting intentions for the mayor of Porto Alegre. Running for re-election, the mayor Sebastião Melo (MDB) is ahead of his opponents in the stimulated survey, with 44%followed by Maria do Rosário (PT), with 23%. Next, there are Juliana Brizola (PDT), with 19%and Felipe Camozzato (New), scoring 4%. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
In addition to these, the research pointed to 3% blank or null votes and 5% don’t know who they are going to vote for or did not respond. You candidates Fabiana Sanguiné (PSTU) and Carlos Alan (PRTB) registered 1% voting intentions, and Luciano Schafer (UP) and César Pontes (PCO) did not score.
Spontaneous research – in which voters choose candidates without being presented with options – also shows Sebastião Melo ahead, with 33%, followed by Maria do Rosário, with 19%. THE PDT candidate has 13% and Novo 2%.
As for rejection, the PT member is ahead, with 51% of voters indicating that they would not vote for her at all. Following are Juliana Brizola with 40% and Melo with 36%.
The Real Time Big Data institute even simulated a possible second round between the current mayor of Porto Alegre and Maria do Rosário. According to the survey, Melo would have 53% of voting intentions and the PT member 35%.
The research has registration RS – 01268/2024 at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), and was carried out between the 27th and 28th of September and carried out a thousand interviews. The confidence level is 95% and the margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
