Quaest: Lula has a positive opinion of 32% and a negative opinion of 31% – 10/02/2024 – Power

President Lula (PT) had a decline in the positive assessment of his government, which once again faced negative considerations surrounding his current mandate, according to a new Quaest survey released this Wednesday (2).

The president had 32% of opinions in his favor, compared to 36% in the previous survey, carried out in July. It also records 31% negative reviews, compared to 30% in the previous survey, and 33% regular reviews, compared to 30% previously. 4% said they did not know or did not want to answer.

The research and consultancy company interviewed 2,000 Brazilians aged 16 or over in person in this round from last Wednesday (25) until Sunday (29). The margin of error for this round is two percentage points, plus or minus.

Quaest also asked voters whether or not they approve of the work that the president is doing, to which 51% say they approve and 45% disapprove. They did not know or did not want to answer, 4%.

The Planalto Palace’s work is most approved in the Northeast, with 69%, and least approved in the Southeast, with 42%, and in the South, with 45%. The greatest disapproval is also in these last two regions, both with 53%.

Still, for 36% of voters, the current administration is neither better nor worse than expected. 30% see Lula’s third term as better than expected, and 33% as worse.

Finally, 38% of voters say that the government is better than the administration of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), a drop of 13 points compared to the previous survey, in which it was 51%. They say 33% is worse, and 22%, which is the same, compared to 8% in July.

The Quaest survey is financed by digital investment brokerage Genial Investimentos, controlled by Genial bank.
