PIS/Pasep 2023 allowance: workers can withdraw BRL 3.7 billion – 03/15/2023 – Market

This Wednesday (15), Caixa Econômica Federal and Banco do Brasil will start paying the second batch of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus for the 2021 base year.

PIS will be paid by Caixa to private sector workers born in March and April, while Pasep will be paid by Banco do Brasil for those who worked in the public sector and have the final digit 1 in their registration number.

In both cases, the amount will be available for withdrawal until December 28 of this year.

In total, almost R$ 3.7 billion will be released this Wednesday (15). The PIS allowance will be made available to 3.45 million employees in the private sector, and the Pasep lot will have 254.3 thousand federal, state and municipal public servants and employees of public companies and mixed economy companies.

The amount varies between R$ 109 and R$ 1,302, depending on the number of months worked in the base year. Each month worked is equivalent to 1/12 of the minimum wage in force on the date of payment, and the period equal to or greater than 15 days counts as a full month.

To be entitled to PIS/Pasep payment, the worker must

• Have formally worked for at least 30 days in the pay base year

• Be enrolled in PIS/Pasep for at least five years

• Have an average remuneration of up to two minimum wages for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, in the base year of 2021

• Have the data correctly informed by the employer in the RAIS (Annual Social Information List) or in the eSocial

The consultation to find out if you are entitled to the benefit can be made through the Digital Work Card application or on the Gov.br portal. In PIS, the payment order follows the month of birth of the worker. Pasep, on the other hand, uses the last digit of the enrollment number as a payment rule.
