The Federal Police concluded, this Thursday (25), that federal deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE) would have incited the acts of January 8 that led to the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers. The parliamentarian is the author of the request for the creation of the CPMI in Congress that investigates those responsible for the protest and appointed by the PL to compose the commission.

A People’s GazetteFernandes criticized the inquiry and made himself available to testify at the commission.

“If criticizing judicial activism is a crime, then there is no democracy in Brazil anymore. I would very much like to testify at the CPMI on January 8, this time publicly, in broad daylight, so that the Brazilian people can see how absurd this is. investigation,” he said.

Fernandes also spoke about the inquiry at the opening session of the CPMI, on Thursday (25), that he is being investigated for having criticized what would be a “judicial activism” by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on January 8.

“I wasn’t here in Brasilia, but even so, I’m part of this investigation”, he said.

The Federal Police investigation report was sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, and forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to issue an opinion within 15 days. Fernandes is investigated at the request of the prosecution for posts on social networks regarding acts that would be against the government.

In addition to Fernandes, the PGR inquiry also cites deputies Clarissa Tércio (PP-PE) and Silvia Waiãpi (PL-AP), who have not yet concluded their investigations.
