On the morning of this Friday (17), the Federal Police carried out 32 arrest warrants and 46 search and seizure warrants in the eighth phase of Operation Lesa Pátria. The operation investigates people allegedly involved in the acts of January 8 that culminated in the invasion and depredation of the Three Powers in Brasília.

The warrants are fulfilled in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rondônia, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo and in the Federal District. According to the PF, the operation targets those involved in the participation, financing or omission in the acts.

According to the corporation, the targets of the operation are investigated for “violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal association, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of specially protected property”.

In the last phase of Operation Lesa Pátria, carried out at the beginning of the month, the PF served three arrest warrants and eight search and seizure warrants in the states of Minas Gerais and Paraná. Since February, when the operation began, 31 preventive or temporary arrest warrants and 58 search and seizure warrants have already been served.
