Open extreme José Aldo Trophy takes place at the end of the month with prizes of up to R$ 2 thousand reais

Manaus (AM) – In the 1st edition carrying the name of José Aldo, Grand Prix of the Open extreme Manaus presents, on May 24, another tournament with the Federation of Mix Martial Arts of Amazonas (FEMMA), in the food court of Dom Pedro, downtown area -West of the capital. There will be four Kickboxing Grand Prix worth R$ 2,000 for each champion and a Boxing fight. There will be three clashes in the MMA modality, one of which will feature a Tunisian athlete.

“The event is designed as a tribute to the great fighter and José Aldo from Amazonas, as he is a fan of kickboxing fights. The expectation is to receive an audience of 2 to 3 thousand”,

declared one of the organizers of the event, Marcelo Pontes.

The main international MMA fight of the night is between the Brazilian Genésio Adryan and the representative of Tunisia, Reguigui Omar. The event has bleachers open to the public, with availability of VIP chairs, with a value of 50 reais and will start at 5 pm.

Organized by Master Márcio Pontes and his son Marcelo Pontes in partnership with FEMMA, the event is expected to attract the general public with its first special edition in honor of fighter José Aldo.

The master, known for being José Aldo’s first trainer, Márcio Pontes, told Em Tempo that the idea for the event came up at one of the FEMMA meetings and was designed with the aim of uniting more than one fighting modality in the same event, this being the third held in this format.

“The idea came up at one of the FEMMA meetings, where we wanted to hold different events during the year and after Aldo retired from MMA we decided on the name José Aldo Trophy. We had countless ideas to implement, we would hold the event inside the Unidos do Alvorada Samba school, but we had to change locations. On a visit to the new tent located in the Dom Pedro food court, we liked the space, looked for the Municipal Secretary and decided to hold it there with completely free bleachers. There are 4 Grand Prix with male and female kickboxing fights, plus 4 professional MMA fights and a boxing fight”,

said master Márcio Pontes.
