October calendar: see Bolsa Família and gas voucher dates – 10/01/2024 – Market
Bolsa Família and the gas voucher for October begin to be paid by Caixa Econômica Federal from the 18th. Payment of benefits will continue until the 31st, according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). The gas voucher is deposited on the same dates as Bolsa Família.
Families affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul will continue to have the benefit deposited on the first day of the calendar until December 2024.
The final value of the gas voucher is based on the average price of a 13 kg cylinder in the last six months, measured by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels).
Gas aid is a benefit granted every two months to families that are in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government).

Who is entitled to Bolsa Família?
You must be registered with CadÚnico, with updated data in the last two years, and have a family income per person of up to R$218 per month.
The value is calculated by adding the income of all people who live in the same house, whether they are parents, spouses, partners, children, stepchildren or siblings.
The calculation does not include compensation for material or moral damages, benefits paid by the public authorities on a temporary basis and amounts received in income transfer programs such as Bolsa Família and gas aid.
What are the rules for receiving the benefit?
In addition to the minimum amount of R$218, beneficiaries must meet conditions in the areas of health and education.
You need:
- Carry out prenatal care, in the case of pregnant women;
- Monitor the national vaccination calendar;
- Monitor the nutritional status of children under 7 years of age;
- Maintain a minimum school attendance of 60% for children aged 4 and 5, and 75% for those aged 6 to 18 who have not completed basic education;
- When enrolling the child in school and vaccinating them at the health center, the family must inform that they are beneficiaries of Bolsa Família.
How is Bolsa Família paid?
The amount is made available by Caixa, through the Caixa Tem application. It is possible to move money without having to go to an agency – that is, citizens can use it to make online purchases, pay bills, make transfers via Pix, among other functions.
To withdraw the benefit, you need to go to ATMs, lottery outlets, Caixa Aqui correspondents and bank branches. The beneficiary also has access to the amount through the Bolsa Família card or Citizen Card.
Bolsa Família pays, in addition to the aid of R$600 per month, additional payments depending on family composition.
There is also an additional payment to homes where there are pregnant women, breastfeeding women and/or children and adolescents up to 18 years old who are at school. Each member of these groups receives an additional R$50.
What is the value of Bolsa Família?
The final amount to be paid from Bolsa Família is made up of complementary benefits, with the minimum amount per family being R$600. See what other benefits it is possible to receive, in addition to the minimum:
-
Citizenship Income Benefit: R$ 142 is paid per family member
-
Complementary Benefit: If the family does not reach the minimum amount of R$600, the government pays the difference so that the minimum amount is reached
-
Extraordinary Transition Benefit: The difference is paid to those who received a higher amount in May 2023 (last month of the previous rules) than in June 2023. This amount is not fixed and will be paid until May 2025 or until the value of Bolsa Família exceeds the transfer established until May 2023
After that, the government includes the following extras:
-
Early Childhood Benefit: R$150 is paid for each child between zero and six years of age
-
Family Variable Benefit: The amount of R$50 is paid for each child between seven and 12 years old, each teenager between 12 and 18 years old, and for pregnant women
-
Nursing Family Variable Benefit: R$50 in families where there are babies aged zero to six months; the benefit is paid to increase the feeding capacity of the breastfeeding mother
Therefore, the value can exceed R$600, depending on the composition of the family.
