Norwegian bakery Bakeri Nord closes its doors in SP – 03/25/2023 – Restaurants

Bakeri Nord, one of the rare Norwegian bakeries in São Paulo, will close its activities next Thursday, the 30th. The house operated for four years in Campos Elíseos, central region.

This is the last week to try the sweet and savory delicacies typical of the Scandinavian country, such as fastelavnsbolle (R$ 15), a sweet bread with whipped cream and icing sugar, and fyrstekake (R$ 18), an almond cake with Sicilian lemon.

The scones, buttered buns, are sold there in a salty version, filled with salami with brie or gorgonzola with chives. The unit costs R$ 10. The rolls (R$ 10) are also featured on the menu and are filled with pesto, garlic with parsley or tomato with oregano and mozzarella.

In the sweet wing, there are cinnamon rolls (R$10), cookies (R$9) and cheesecake (R$20), among others. The carrot cake is made Norwegian-style and features cream cheese (R$18 a slice). To drink, there are coffees and juices.

“Things have been difficult for a while now and there comes a time when we need to take care of ourselves, our health and our minds,” wrote the owner, Norwegian immigrant Guro Amundsen Nygaard, on social media.

“It certainly isn’t easy to undertake, much less in Brazil, much less being a woman, and much less being a foreigner. The decision to close was the hardest I’ve ever taken in my life”, she says.

The space receives customers this Saturday (25), from 9 am to 6 pm, on Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Wednesday, until 4 pm. The house delivers via delivery, with orders via iFood and WhatsApp (11) 98093-8857.
