The government’s measures include new vehicles in stock in the sector, Leite told journalists after attending a meeting with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Vice President and Minister of Industry and Commerce, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), at the Planalto Palace.
According to Alckmin, with the measures, automakers will give a discount of 1.5% to 10.79% on new cars, depending on the price of the vehicle, its energy efficiency and industrial density. Currently the cheapest models in the country cost around 70 thousand reais.
