Multipalco hosts Recital Fronteira with Uruguayan artists

This Thursday (30th), at 7 pm, the Espaço Multipalco of Theatro São Pedro (Praça Mal. Deodoro, s/n) receives the Recital Fronteira with Martim César & Oscar Massita with Duo Copla Alta, from Uruguay. Organized by the plastic artist, writer and editor Alfredo Aquino, there will also be the release of the CD Songs that were born along the wayby Martim César & Oscar Massita, and, at 6 pm, the opening of the photography exhibition Borderby Elis Vasconcellos and launch of the book KNIVES – Chosen Tales (Editions Ardotempo, 112 pages, R$45). The occasion also marks the inauguration of the TSP’s Teatro Oficina. The opening of the exhibition and the launch of the book are free admission, tickets for the recital are on sale at Theater website for from BRL 40.00.
That night, the musical journey will begin with one of the most authentic singers in Uruguay. Oscar Massitta is a wanderer on the paths of his homeland and the south of Brazil. In your work Songs that were born along the waya partnership with Martim César, work that will be released in this recital, recorded characters and places on the border of the Uruguayan department of Cerro Largo, such as Posta del Chuy, an inn for diligences and a bridge founded by the Basques in 1855.

Then, it will be the turn of one of the most important folklore acts in Uruguay today, Duo Copla Alta, to take the stage. In 2019 the duo won the Charrua de Oro award, the highest musical distinction for Uruguayan folk music. This night of music will be preceded by an exhibition of images of the frontier, by Elis Vasconcellos, as well as the launch of a collective book of short stories, KNIVES, from Edições Ardotempo, by Alfredo Aquino, inspired by the writing of Aldyr Garcia Schlee.
