MP-SP asks Google for information about a game that allowed black people to be tortured

‘Slavery Simulator’ application, which was available on the Play Store, was made by a developer identified as Magnus Games and had just over a thousand downloads. Game ‘Simulator of Slavery’ Reproduction The Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of São Paulo (MP-SP) asked Google for more information about the game “Simulator of Slavery”, which allowed black people to be punished and tortured. The app was available on devices with the Android operating system, which belongs to Google. The game was produced by a developer identified as Magnus Games and had just over a thousand downloads in addition to 70 ratings. In the comments, some people complained about “little possibilities of aggression”. g1 was unable to contact Magnus Games. In a note sent, Google said that the game has been removed from Google Play and that it has “a robust set of policies that aim to keep users safe and that must be followed by all developers” (read in full at the end of the report). The MP-SP gave Google three days to inform: date, time and platform(s) the game was made available, as well as how long it was available; asks for a copy of documents, including developer data, such as the bank account of the person responsible for paying the registration fee, identification of all those responsible for analyzing the application for approval and details of the application; asks for e-mail that was registered by the developer for contact and digital signature data. The MP-SP also wants to understand the authorization policy for publishing applications, if the Magnus Games company has other services within the Google store and copies of all comments made in the “evaluations” field. The MP-SP document is signed by the prosecutor Maria Fernanda Balsalobre Pinto, from the Special Group to Combat Racial Crimes and Intolerance (Gecradi) of the MP-SP. What Google says: “The referenced app has been removed from Google Play. We have a robust set of policies designed to keep users safe that all developers must follow. We do not allow apps that promote violence or incite hatred against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, or that portray or promote gratuitous violence or other dangerous activities. Anyone who believes they have found an app that violates our rules can file a report. When we identify a policy violation, we take action due actions.”
