Mayor of SP meets with Lula government to discuss purchase of Palácio dos Correios – 03/15/2023 – Panel

Ricardo Nunes (MDB) has a meeting this Wednesday (15) with Alexandre Padilha, Minister of Institutional Relations, to discuss the possible purchase of the Palácio dos Correios by the City of São Paulo.
The mayor’s idea is to transform the building, located in Praça Pedro Lessa, in the Anhangabaú valley, into the first unit of the SP24 project, which has the proposal to bring together municipal services to citizens for 24 hours, in a similar way to Descomplica.
In addition, the site would also house a 24-hour monitoring center for the city, with the aim of monitoring the operation of traffic lights, swimming pools, SAMU, among others.
According to the City Hall, the building is valued at R$ 77 million and the Postal Service has already sent a letter making the sale available. What is missing, therefore, is a decree with authorization from the Presidency.
Nunes will also meet with Justices of the Federal Supreme Court Rosa Weber, Luiz Fux and Gilmar Mendes on his first trip to Brasilia in 2023.
