Marta Suplicy likes Tabata’s post that criticizes Boulos – 10/02/2024 – Poder

Former mayor Marta Suplicy (PT), candidate for Guilherme Boulos’ vice-president for Mayor of São Paulo, liked a post by Tabata Amaral (PSB) that criticizes the useful vote for the PSOL federal deputy.

The post was published this Wednesday morning (2) in a tone of criticism of the psolista’s campaign strategy, which asks for a useful vote to avoid a second round with two Bolsonarists. This week, intellectuals and artists launched a manifesto calling for this useful vote in Boulos.

Boulos and Marta’s advisors have not yet commented on the like on the post.

Regarding the like on the post, Tabata states that “he has a lot of affection and friendship for Marta”. “She’s my voter, she voted for me as federal deputy and she was one of the first people I talked to when I wanted to run for mayor, but there’s no point in arguing over party issues.”

The candidate believes that, if there were no party issues, Marta and Erundina would vote for her. “Being the third mayor of São Paulo will be a great honor, but a great responsibility. When the city had a mayor, it grew a lot. I’m happy with the support.”

Tabata claims that he used to talk to Marta before the campaign. “But, we understood that it was important to respect the moment,” he says.

This Wednesday, four days before the first round, Tabata criticized Boulos’ campaign and said he saw “desperation” in the deputy’s request for a useful vote and cited millionaire transfers received by his rival’s candidacy.

The federal deputy, who appears in fourth place in voting intention polls, celebrated positive fluctuations in recent surveys.

In the figure released on Monday (30) by Quaest, with a margin of error of two points, it registered 11%, three more than the previous week. Boulos appeared technically tied with Ricardo Nunes (MDB, 24%) and Pablo Marçal (PRTB, 21%).

In an interview with journalists in the Brás region, the PSB candidate criticized the PSOL deputy, pointed out his lack of capacity for dialogue and cited his campaign’s fundraising.

“It’s the desperation of a candidacy that has R$66 million in declared campaign money and has stagnated,” she said. “It can’t grow because it’s one thing to be active, to raise signs, it’s another to sit as a deputy or mayor, bring in the governor, the president and face the real problems the city faces.”

Tabata also mentioned that polls show that, in a possible second round, the psolist will lose to Nunes.

The PSB candidate had already been criticizing the so-called useful vote in recent weeks, but intensified the attacks on Boulos in the last Record debate, which took place on Saturday (28). She questioned her opponent about having changed her position on issues such as abortion and the political situation in Venezuela.

Boulos dribbled and said that he will govern for the entire city, not just for those who have the same ideas or those of his party.

On Monday, in the debate promoted by Sheet and UOL, she repeated the strategy and suggested the possibility of a lack of control in public accounts in an eventual victory for Boulos.

The candidate reacted, said he would not react to this type of attack, and stated that he and Tabata are “on the same side”.

“I believe you are part of the progressive camp, the same camp. Despite the differences we have, I believe we are on the same side.”

The federal deputy is betting on toughening up the clash with Boulos in the final stretch of the campaign in the hope of growing in the polls and trying to secure a place in the second round.

In interviews, she never says who she should support in the second round, she states that she still hopes to go to the next stage and that, if that doesn’t happen, she won’t campaign for any opponent, but should indicate her vote for the “least worst” .
