Mayoral candidate Pablo Marçal (PRTB) will meet this Tuesday (1st) at a dinner with businesspeople in São Paulo.

The meeting will be organized by federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP). Former Minister of the Environment under Jair Bolsonaro (PL), he refuses to support the re-election of the current mayor of the capital of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB).

Salles confirms the meeting and says that it was organized at the request of businesspeople who wanted to meet the former coach — who, after a slight drop in the polls, fluctuated upwards and remains in contention to go to the second round.

As Marçal is seen as a potential candidate for president in 2026, the meeting with businesspeople is being seen by some sectors of Bolsonarism as the launch of his name for the dispute against Lula (PT) — with Salles as vice president.

The former minister emphatically denies the possibility. “My candidate is already defined: it is Jair Bolsonaro,” he says.
