Lula criticized Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó and classified him as an imposter

Brasilia DF) – After meetings between representatives of the Brazilian and Venezuelan governments, the presidents of the respective countries, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Nicolás Maduro, signed treaties. Earlier, the two had a bilateral meeting and an extended one, at the Planalto Palace.

During the speech, Lula recalled that Maduro had not been to Brazil for eight years and called the meeting between the two a “historic moment” and a “return to integration”. “Venezuela has always been a partner for Brazil. Due to mistakes, Maduro did not come to Brazil for a long time and we did not go there. We had a commercial relationship of practically R$ 6 billion. This is bad for Venezuela and bad for Brazil,” said Lula.

“I want to say that it is a pleasure to welcome you here again”, stated Lula. And she described Juan Guaidó, leader of the Venezuelan opposition and who even proclaimed himself president of the country, as an “impostor”.

“I found out that Venezuela had a gold reserve in London, and that this gold reserve was placed under Guaidó’s guarantor. An imposter as president of the Republic, because they did not accept the elected president”,

spoke Lula.

In the words of the Brazilian president, the prejudice against Venezuela is very big: “We suffer a very big prejudice here, because of the friendship with Venezuela. There were speeches and more speeches where they said that Brazil was going to become Venezuela, Cuba and Argentina”, said Lula, before saying that the treaties would be in different areas, such as cultural, economic, scientific and on the border against drug trafficking.

Lula highlighted the necessary integration between South American countries. And that the separation between these nations causes economic problems: “No country in South America had a chance to become a middle-class country. We are always dealing with poverty. We have strength in the negotiation process”.

“We, in South America, live very apart from others. Each country will be what it wants to be. Let’s talk to 12 [países]. There has been a setback across the world. Let’s discuss this with more power and strength. We held a meeting at Fiesp. Entrepreneurs know that we cannot deliver government purchases. We have to think about how South America is going to grow”,

stated.

According to Lula, “it is the beginning of the return of South American integration, in tomorrow’s meeting”.

Maduro also insisted on the South American integration speech. “We need to build a new South America. With the Brics [bloco econômico que reúne Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul] we see elements that can move us forward, five powerful countries. “We are the great magnet of countries that want to be with the Brics”, she theorized.

He also recalled the attempted invasion of the Venezuelan embassy in Brazil.

“We wanted to build a prosperous South America. This was stopped overnight by extreme ideologization, subdividing relationships. Suddenly, all windows with Brazil were closed, even though we are neighboring countries”,

he said.

“Today opens a new era of the relationship between Brazil and Venezuela,” continued Maduro.

“Venezuela is prepared and its doors are open for businessmen to resume investments in Venezuela. We love the history of the Brazilian people, we hope that no one ever again closes the doors between Brazil and Venezuela ”, she pointed out.
