The Ministry of Social Development should shortly launch two programs aimed at qualifying the low-income population.

One of them, called “Aprender & Empreender”, is aimed at people from 16 years of age registered in the federal government’s Single Registry, with a per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage.

It is an estimated audience of 1 million people. The idea is to establish partnerships with private companies and entities to promote entrepreneurship projects, providing guidance on credit, technical assistance and support for a business plan.

In addition, the construction of a National Care Policy is also underway, aimed at people who work in cleaning activities, domestic services and assistance to vulnerable people, such as the elderly, children and people with disabilities.

These are functions held mostly by women and blacks, which creates barriers to entering the labor market and increases inequality.

On March 30, an interministerial group was created by decree to think about actions for workers involved in this sector. The body brings together 17 ministries and has a term of 180 days, which can be extended for an equal period.
