Conmebol announced that it will award clubs for victories in the group stages of the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana.

Each triumph in Liberta will earn US$300,000 (R$1.5 million, at today’s exchange rate), while in Sula it will be US$100,000 (R$526,000).

The purpose of this bonus is “to recognize sporting merits”, according to the entity.

In all, Conmebol will distribute around 300 million dollars (R$ 1.5 billion) in its tournaments, which means an appreciation of around 57 million dollars compared to 2022, that is, an increase of 23% .

In this way, 207.8 million dollars (R$ 1 billion) will be distributed in Libertadores, an increase of 21% in relation to the last edition.

Sul-Americana will pay US$77.8 million (R$409.7 million) to all clubs, a 30% increase.

The draws for the groups of the two tournaments will take place on the 27th, at the headquarters of Conmebol, in Paraguay.

Athletico, Corinthians, Flamengo, Fluminense, Internacional, Palmeiras and Atlético-MG.

Brazilian clubs in South America
