Joana Darc rescues a dog that was being induced to smoke marijuana in Manaus
Rescue of the animal, named Snoop, a 6-month-old male, was extremely important for his health
Manasu (AM) — The president of the Animal Protection Commission of the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (CPAMA-Aleam), deputy Joana Darc (UB) rescued, on the morning of this Thursday (14), in the Santo Agostinho neighborhood, west zone of Manaus, a dog that he was being induced to consume a cigarette, possibly marijuana, through the smoke that was introduced into his nostrils by his guardian.
The parliamentarian became aware of the complaint through social media after the individual recorded it and posted it on his personal network. Richard Oliveira, 27 years old, was taken to the 19th Integrated Police District (DIP) to give a statement about the mistreatment involving animals and the drugs found at his residence.
For deputy Joana Darc, rescuing the animal, called Snoop, a 6-month-old male, was extremely important for his health.
“We removed Snoop from the scene of the complaint, as his life was at serious risk from ingesting cigarettes, possibly marijuana. We are with him, we are going to neuter him and we need responsible adoption for this little angel. Abuse is not just beating, but also inducing animals to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes”,
he said.
In tests carried out after the rescue, it was found that the animal had tick disease. The action had the support of the Independent Company of Policing with Dogs (CIPCães) of the Military Police of the State of Amazonas (PM-AM).
How to adopt
In addition to Snoop, a puppy rescued this Thursday morning (14/09), the parliamentarian has more than 30 animals available for adoption.
Interested parties can send a message via WhatsApp to the number (92) 99145-1111. Furthermore, Congresswoman Joana Darc’s contact center is available to receive reports of animal abuse in Amazonas.
