This content is about a fact that is still being investigated by the newsroom. Soon we will have more information.

The pastor Itamar Paim (PL) will fill the vacancy left by Deltan Dallagnol (We can) in the Chamber of Deputies. The decision was confirmed by the Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) this Wednesday afternoon (17), after a new recount of votes for the 2022 Elections in the State.

Dallagnol lost his mandate as federal deputy after the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) unanimously decide to challenge his candidacy registration on Tuesday night (16). On the Electoral Justice website, Dallagnol’s registration is listed as rejected, and Paim’s registration confirms the election.

At the trial at the TSE, the president of the court, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, confirmed the understanding of Minister Benedito Gonçalves for the votes received by Deltan Dallagnol to return to Podemos. With the decision to reject the candidacy, the TRE-PR recounted the votes this Wednesday afternoon.

Itamar Paim was born in Paranaguá, is 46 years old, married and got 47,052 votes last year. He took the vacancy because, in the understanding of TRE-PR, the direct substitute for the vacancy in Podemos did not reach the minimum quotient of votes foreseen by the electoral legislation – for the party, the expectation was that Luiz Carlos Hauly, with 11,925 votes, would inherit the vacancy of the former Lava Jato prosecutor. With the decision, the PL, party of former president Jair Bolsonaro, will have a bench with 100 federal deputies in the Chamber. Dallagnol’s Podemos has shrunk to 11 seats.
