Irregular bets will be overturned by Anatel, says Haddad – 09/30/2024 – Market

Finance Minister Fernando Haddad (PT) stated this Monday (30) that around 500 bets that did not apply for government regulation will have websites taken down next week by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency).

“In the same way that X went off the air, these companies must go too, due to a lack of compliance with the rules”, he said, during an interview with Jornal da CBN. “If you have money at the betting house, ask for a refund now.”

Haddad also stated that the government is preparing to block payment methods such as credit cards and Bolsa Família cards on betting sites. In addition, the department must monitor the evolution of prizes by CPF for each bettor.

“Those who bet a lot and win little are psychologically addicted, those who bet little and win a lot are generally laundering money.”

The minister stated that he should meet on Tuesday with sector entities to discuss the issue of betting advertising, which would be “out of control”.
