The “restoration” of Brazilian foreign policy under the government of Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva (PT) is the subject of an article in the prestigious magazine Foreign Affairs, a reference in international issues.
The text was requested by the editor-in-chief of the publication, Dan Kurtz Phelan, in a sign of the renewed attention that Brazilian diplomacy has awakened. The article was written by Hussein Kalout and FelĂcio GuimarĂ£es, linked to Cebri (Brazilian Center for International Relations).
The article’s title is, in free translation, “The restoration of Brazilian foreign policy — How Lula can make up for lost time”.
The authors highlight Brazil’s role in discussions on climate change, a topic left aside by former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“Brazil can, once again, play a key role in the effort to curb climate change, a project largely abandoned by Bolsonaro”
