Students from the Alexandre Vaz Tavares State School were honored in an action by the Government of Amapá and the Amapaense Federation of School Sports (Fan of). The institution’s field soccer team received certificates for representing Amapá in the 2023 Field Soccer School Championship, in Recife.
The homage took place on Thursday (25) and was coordinated by the State Secretariats for Education (Seed) and Sports and Leisure (Sedel) to celebrate the National School Sports Day.
To the team captain, Agenor Neto, wearing the Amapá shirt in the competition is a dream come true. “Our team put a lot of effort into this. Representing the school and my state is part of a childhood dream, which is not only mine, but also my family and friends on the team.”commented the student.
The teacher Alda Dias encouraged the practice of sports in the school environment because it believes that sports are an ally in preventing situations that may alienate students from the institution.
“Sport helps combat violence and dropout within our schools, in addition to improving school performance. We only have to gain when we invest and provide these opportunities and programs”, analyzed Alda.
The Acting Secretary of Sedel, Marcos Nunes, took the opportunity to reinforce that registrations for the Amapaense School Games go until the end of this month.

School games
Registration for the Amapaense School Games for ages 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 remains open. Public and private schools in the 16 municipalities have until May 31 to participate. Athletes can register until June 7th. Organized by the State Government, the Games start on June 10 and are expected to bring together more than 4,000 student-athletes.
Enrollment forms for schools and athletes in Macapá in collective and individual sports can be delivered in person at the Ginásio Poliesportivo Avertino Ramos, on Rua Cândido Mendes, in the Centre. Institutions and students from other municipalities can send registrations to the email [email protected].
