Folha/UOL debate: what candidates said about São Paulo – 09/30/2024 – Power
Candidates for Mayor of São Paulo participated this Monday morning (24) in the debate Sheet/UOL, marked by discussions about religion, corruption and drugs.
In a cycle of debates with episodes of physical violence, this Monday’s meeting had much of the time used for attacks by Pablo Marçal (PRTB) and Tabata Amaral (PSB) on the intention leaders in the Datafolha survey, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and Guilherme Boulos (PSOL).
The candidates also did not address Cracolândia (the word was mentioned in other contexts, without elaboration) and the environment in this penultimate debate of the electoral race.
Candidate mentions
THE Sheet it also monitors direct and indirect quotes from candidates, which in this debate were more incisive.
Mayor Ricardo Nunes concentrated 52% of his mentions on Boulos and, like the psolist candidate, mentioned Tabata only once.
The PSOL candidate, in turn, mentioned Nunes 31 times, which represents 67% of the mentions made by Boulos during the debate Sheet/UOL.
Pablo Marçal, even though he has a greater number of citations against the current mayor, also expanded his lead against Boulos and Tabata.
Tabata Amaral made only 17 direct quotes to the other candidates, most heavily against Marçal. The highlight is the quote from candidate Marina Helena (Novo), who was not in the program.
The tool of Sheet “Debate in Numbers” shows the transcription of the candidates’ speeches and categorizes them into different themes.
This was the first debate of the São Paulo campaign this year with the time bank format, in which the candidate himself manages the length of his speeches within an established limit and can speak at any time — 20 minutes, in this case. The model was praised by participants, who highlighted the possibility of interaction.
