Willian spends a week without training and misses Fluminense in the Carioca semifinal

After not training for the entire week, Willian Bigode will be missing for Fluminense in the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca. Amid the controversy with former teammates of Palmeiras, the striker was released by Fluminense to resolve private issues.

Willian is in São Paulo to give testimonies and has not been to CT Carlos Castilho throughout this week. The player was left out of the first match. The club justified it by saying that he was released to “resolve private problems”, two days after the case came to light.

Fluminense observes the situation carefully, but does not press the athlete for a comeback. Willian is not a starter on the team with Fernando Diniz, but had been used on the bench.

He has five appearances this season, all coming into the second half. The last one was on February 25th. For Fluminense, the striker has six goals and five assists. All the balls in the net were in 2022.

Willian became the center of a controversy that runs in the Justice of São Paulo after Gustavo Scarpa and Mayke filed a lawsuit alleging damage of almost R$ 11 million for investments made with a company linked to the Fluminense striker’s consultancy.

The player gave a statement to the police last Thursday (11). He was summoned by the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo to provide clarification on the complaint. In the only statement, Willian claims not to be a scammer and says he was also a victim of the company Xland.

Mayke and Scarpa claim that they applied the money in May 2022. The deadline for returning the amount would be August, for Scarpa, and October, for Mayke. Mayke claims to have deposited BRL 4.5 million, and that he should have a return of BRL 3.2 million in the period. Scarpa, in turn, invested BRL 6.3 million in the investment
