Flamengo: Filipe Luís promises more offensive team – Diário do Amapá
Filipe Luís On the afternoon of last Monday (30), he lived his first day as interim coach of Flamengo’s main team. The former player began preparations for the match against Corinthians, in the Copa do Brasil.
After training, where Filipe Luís ran alongside the players during the warm-up, the interim coach spoke about the importance of the under-17 and under-20 career, to feel confident in the professional team.
“This experience in the under-17s was fundamental, it was where I learned how to set up training and the committee. It was where I was able to put my ideas into practice and saw the team playing the way I wanted. I saw that it was possible, that I was capable, it gave me confidence.”
“Then I went to coach the under-20s, a new challenge, in the middle of the season, I always thought a lot as a coach, but living as a coach was something new, it’s what I love to do and I’m delighted to be here again”he completed.
Filipe Luís also spoke about his playing style, very offensive and with a lot of pressure on the ball. “Certainly my game model is a lot of attack. Many times, I sin by not being afraid, by attacking. But this team already has a very good defensive organization. I will try to put my idea into practice, which is different, but I hope to see them attack the way I think, with lots of chances and lots of goals.”
