Financial accessibility: tool allows debt negotiation in Sign Language


Faced with the growing demand for service in Brazilian Sign Language, Serasa strengthens channels to serve consumers with hearing impairments.

In partnership with ICOM, a platform specialized in Sign Language, the center has already provided support to more than 400 people since the beginning of the year, offering simultaneous translation and personalized solutions for financial services.

Simultaneous translation via video call works in partnership with ICOM, whose interpreters are qualified to make contact between deaf consumers and call centers.

The ICOM platform allows deaf customers to be served in their own language in real time.

More than 70% of the services provided are related to the topics of debt renegotiation and Score.

“The main topics covered in the calls indicate a growing search for a more conscious financial journey, with the aim of resolving outstanding debts and improving the relationship with the credit market,” says Paulo Nakano, customer experience manager at Serasa.

“The attendants are specially prepared to guide this process in a didactic and safe way”.

According to Nakano, the center specializing in Libras is a milestone for the inclusion and autonomy of people with hearing impairments in managing their finances.

“Through video calls with interpreters, support not only facilitates understanding of services, but also promotes practical solutions, such as debt renegotiation. This initiative reinforces our commitment to accessibility for all consumers”, he explains.

You will receive a prompt to direct the call to an external link. Accept the option on the “Click to Continue” button.

Wait to be answered and make sure the equipment’s camera is enabled. Video calls in Libras can be made both on a computer and on a cell phone.
